Replace your Pants with Kilts ‘Clans on the Coast’ Celtic Festival in Port Stephens

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACombine Scottish and Celtic dancing, a strong-man competition, medieval battle re-enactments, marching piped bands and an atmosphere filled with traditional Scottish singing and you have the annual Clans on the Coast Festival held to be held in Port Stephens on Saturday September 21.

Organised by the Port Stephens Celtic Association as a not-for-profit event, the lively Scottish celebration is open to everyone keen to watch a spectacle of events such as singing groups, kids activities such as netball and soccer and the strong-man competition including tug-of-war and the caber toss (competitors toss a large wooden pole called a ‘caber’). Stalls with Celtic jewellery and clothing will be on display and a parade of massed bands will also thrill the crowds.

All proceeds raised will go towards local cancer appeals in Port Stephens.
