Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Iconic Sheraton Brand Returns To Melbourne, Australia

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., today announced the opening of Sheraton Melbourne Hotel in Australia.

Owned by Golden Age Development Group, the hotel marks the return of the iconic Sheraton brand to Melbourne and is the first of five Sheraton hotels to open in the Pacific region in 2014.

Sheraton Melbourne Hotel is the newest addition to Starwood’s dynamic portfolio of 11 properties in Australia under four of its brands: Sheraton, Westin, Four Points by Sheraton and Aloft. The iconic brand currently operates six hotels in the Pacific; by the end of 2014, Sheraton will nearly double its presence in the region with five openings including Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island, Opening of Sheraton Melbourne Hotel, Australia - General Manager, Hal Philip, with owners, Golden Age Development GroupFiji; Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort; Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Hotel and Bungalows; and Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & Spa.
Located in the heart of Australia’s second-largest city, Sheraton Melbourne Hotel is situated at the ‘Paris end’ of Melbourne’s Little Collins Street in the central business district. Just moments away from the city’s commercial offices, finest dining, shopping, theatre, nightlife, and sporting venues, guests have easy access to key tourist attractions including the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Treasury Gardens, Princess Theatre and Parliament House.
