Launching The Lodge at Kinloch, Cutting Edge New Zealand Golf Resort Design 2015

The Lodge at Kinloch, scheduled to open in October 2015, will offer irresistible new heights of golfing escape to discerning lovers of natural beauty and of cutting-edge design – complementing a spectacular, on-site 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, The Kinloch Club voted for 2014, #1 Golf Course in New Zealand by a select team of New Zealand Golf Professionals.
“Having just played Kinloch for the first time I can honestly say this is the number one golf course in New Zealand. For those unable to play the great links courses of Scotland, Kinloch compares with the best of them. A true Links experience with Jack Nicklaus at his best” – Sir Bob Charles.
Created by the much-awarded Treetops Lodge & Estate, The Lodge at Kinloch will feature sparkling one-bedroom junior suites and luxurious one and two bedroom villas in an exclusive, landscaped setting with views over the course to Lake Taupo, the scenic hub of New Zealand's North Island.
Inspired to harmonize with the magnificent 18-hole lakeside links by Jack Nicklaus, the villas were designed by Andrew Patterson, perhaps New Zealand's best internationally known and published architect.
Interiors are skilled by Virginia Fisher, THE New Zealand lodge designer, and feature her signature expansive spaces, huge log fireplaces, vista windows, stunning designer details, furnished terraces and sensational marble bathrooms.
“My brief for the main lodge was to emulate a version of the Kinloch region namesake Scottish castle, but with a truly modern 21st century feel. My vision was a baronial feel of lush textures – velvet, fox fur, brass and copper but upon modern calm of whitewash, light and airy. The Bar which harks back to a time of leather and rock surfaces, cowhide, goat fur and burnt wood flooring is masculine and intense. For private dinners or meetings, The Den is regal – soft and warm with silver and gold's, slate floors and lush New Zealand designed wool rugs. In contrast, a short stroll from the lodge are the luxury villas which are 'quiet' in design and harmonise with the magnificent natural setting of this 18-hole lakeside links course. – Virginia Fisher
A world-class restaurant using produce reared from the private 2000 ha owners estate adheres to the 'Estate to Plate' organic philosophy where possible, of course matched with New Zealand and worlds best wines. Complementing the sporting of the internationally recognised golf course is a resort offering excellent in-lodge and villa entertainment facilities, an onsite spa specialising in sporting therapeutic and organic wellness treatments, an awesome infinity pool, a gym and tennis courts. The Lodge is also an unequalled new choice for weddings, conferences, private golf tournaments and very much more.
There's much more to do than teeing off. The Kinloch Club is the perfect base to discover the incredible scenic and recreational diversity of New Zealand, from all water sports and summer skiing on the lake to winter skiing in Tongariro Park or walking the world-famed Tongariro Crossing. There's seasonal fly-fishing in some of the world's best trout streams - even adventurous wild game hunting, and signature eco-wilderness experiences at our sister lodge Treetops. Gentle sightseeing includes the geysers and bubbling mud of Rotorua, heritage heartland of Maoridom.
